Girl's Camporee & Scouting Programs
Let's Hear it for the Girls!
Camporees are a great weekend getaway with a focus on fun and badge work for scouts! Check out the information below to learn more.
What to Expect
Registration:
Each person attending must be registered individually, and all children under 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times. When registering, you'll have the opportunity to enter what troop and town you are with so that you can be grouped correctly. If you are the leader, you will be asked additional questions, including what program you'd like your troop to complete while they are at camp! See the program options below for a list of our offerings for 2025.
Arrival:
Please arrive on Friday having had dinner! You'll check into the main office and then go to your cabin. Cabins are assigned based on troop numbers. If you are the leader, you'll also have the opportunity to indicate if your troop would like to bunk near or with another troop. After settling in, we'll meet in the dining hall to create and exchange SWAPS, get to know each other, and have a brief orientation.
Weekend Schedule:
Your finalized schedule will be given to you upon arrival due to the number of programs we are offering during the camporee! There is plenty of time for fun activities and there will be an All Camporee campfire on Saturday Evening! More details on the weekend will be emailed as we get closer to January.
Packing for Camp:
Please check the weather before you come to camp - this is a rain/snow or shine event, so make sure you pack appropriate clothing. If there is snow on the ground or in the forecast, don't forget your sled for our sledding hill, and snow gear to play in!

SWAPS Explained
Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere
What are SWAPS?
SWAPS are a handmade craft that Girl Scouts give or trade with other Girl Scouts as a special "remember me" gift. SWAPS can be simple or complex, cheap or expensive, whatever the maker desires. SWAPS are usually an inch to two inches in size. It is not necessary to spend a lot of money on SWAPS. Many people make them out of scraps or natural materials. Most SWAPS are made with pins attached so they can be pinned onto a camp shirt or hat. SWAPs are little things that girls and leaders make to trade with each other at county or national events. SWAPs do not have to be pins. They can be bracelets, necklaces, council patches, event patches, or other small items. SWAPS should NOT contain edible food. Food items can't be kept as keepsakes and they attract bugs and critters when outdoors.
SWAPS History: The idea of S.W.A.P.S. started at the original National Roundup Conferences. At that time a "SWAPSs" was a little remembrance that one Girl Scout gave to another.
SWAPS Stations at the Camporee: We will have SWAPs stations in the Dining Hall. Troops can use these stations to create SWAPs throughout the weekend to be handed out to other scouts. We are looking to pass on the joy of offering gifts to the girls to commemorate the weekend of memories.
SWAPS From Home: If you'd like to make SWAPS before you come to camp, it's a great activity to do at a meeting!
