A Little About Fairview Lake YMCA Camps
Fairview Lake YMCA Camps was established way back in 1915, providing premier sleepaway camps for children and adolescents. Since then, our 660-acre summer camp has offered summer camps for children in grades 2 through 11, as well as family programs and weekend retreats. We're a 501(c)3 non-profit social services organization dedicated to youth development in our community. We emphasize healthy living, social responsibility, and building crucial skill sets. Many children who attend our summer camps leave with a heightened sense of confidence and a sense of belonging. We have something for everyone, from archery and climbing walls to numerous athletic fields.

At Fairview Lake YMCA Camps, you can expect a wide variety of summer and sleepaway camps designed to pique the interests of any child. No matter which of our camps you enroll your child in, you can expect an emphasis on creating a sense of belonging and forging new friendships. We hire and train staff to be mentors for children and promote healthy development in a safe, pro-growth environment. Do you have fantastic memories associated with a traditional sleepaway camp? Many parents contact us looking for an experience for their child that replicates one they had in their youth. At our traditional camps, children get to be a part of our decades-old traditions, songs, and stories. Campers participate in all kinds of special activities, from swim instruction to sports to free time! Fairview Lake YMCA Camps is proud to provide traditional camps for all ages. If your child in grades 2 through 4 would benefit from a summer camp, Camp Minisink is for them. Children in grades 5 through 10 have an excellent experience at Camp Laurel Ridge or Camp Kittatinny. Camp Tupelo provides a two-week experience for children in grades 5-10 at the end of each summer.A Unique Program for Campers
Five days of sleepaway camp and home on the weekends! Lake in the Woods Sleepaway Camp provides a structured program to encourage campers to try new things, form strong friendships, learn cooperation and teamwork skills, and have fun. Each two-week themed session will bring a variety of entertaining and engaging activities to spark the imagination of your child and bring out their very best. Campers can enjoy their week at camp and then be home on the weekends to spend quality time with their families. Camp is held on the beautiful Blair Academy Campus in Blairstown, NJ.
Try One of Our Specialty Sleepaway Camps
Does your child have a particular area of interest they'd like to hone? Then our specialty camps are for you! Fairview Lake YMCA Camps has offerings for grades 4 through 10 spanning one-week sessions. Our team has designed camps for nearly any interest, whether that has to do with the arts, science, or sports. Here's a sampling of our specialty summer camps:- Arts and Crafts: Hone your crafting, painting, and design skills with this specialty camp! This is ideal for artists or children who love to create.
- Theater: Whether your child wants to act in plays or write them, this specialty camp was made for them. Children work with our team to stage their very own play!
- Sailing: For grades 5 through 10, we offer a sailing and windsurfing experience your child won't soon forget. We'll help them learn sailing skills, terminology, and more.
- Science: Curious children will love this camp focusing on physical and environmental sciences. We try new experiments and projects each day!
- Farm: Does your child love animals? At this summer camp, they'll learn the basics of caring for animals, responsibility, and teamwork.
Spark an Interest in Horses and Riding at Ranch Camp
Available for one, two, or three-week programs, ranch camp is ideal for your child who loves horses. We'll work on horsemanship skills and riding, as well as proper grooming and taking care of a horse barn. Whether your child is a beginner or has been riding horses for some time, they'll find their place at ranch camp. In addition to participating in an in-house horse show, your child will have every opportunity to enjoy other camp activities, such as swimming and sports.
Spend Summer Days at Blue Mountain Day Camp
The Blue Mountain Day Camp at Fairview Lake YMCA Camps is ideal for children with a strong sense of adventure. Our counselors guide children through all kinds of activities. We offer all the basics you'd expect of a day camp, such as tennis, basketball, swimming, and other sports. However, we're also proud to provide opportunities for children to expand their horizons with archery, riflery, sailing, horseback riding, and much more. Before and after-care is available.
Day Camp at Lake in the Woods
Lake in the Woods Day Camp provides a structured program to encourage campers to try new things, form strong friendships, learn cooperation and teamwork skills, and have fun. Each themed session will bring a variety of entertaining and engaging activities to spark the imagination of your child and bring out their very best. Held on the beautiful campus of Blair Academy in Blairstown, NJ.
Take on an Adventure for the Summer
Is your child looking for a challenge? We offer many different Environmental Trips for Challenge for children in grades 4 through 11. These camps provide a unique experience. They allow children to build confidence while taking on challenging activities, such as backpacking, kayaking, and many others. Camps lasting one week, two weeks, or three weeks are designed for a specific age range and interest. Younger children can participate in one-week camps centered on hiking, fishing, and climbing, while older teenagers can enroll in longer camps. Two- and three-week camps might involve hiking the Appalachian Trail, contributing to community service projects, or trying out a difficult ropes course.
Take the Next Step—Become a Summer Camp Counselor
If your child is a seasoned summer camp veteran, why not look into becoming a camp counselor? At Fairview Lake YMCA Camps, we offer an extensive and comprehensive Counselor in Training program. These programs last about a month, and participants must be at least 16 years old. We'll work on communication skills, as well as teamwork, conflict resolution, and much more. In the final week of training, our prospective counselors get to assist our current counselors with their everyday activities. Even if your teenager does not decide to become a sleepaway camp counselor in the future, this program helps adolescents to become effective leaders in all parts of life.
