What to Expect at Camp

We want you to see Fairview Lake YMCA Camps as your home away from home, and to do that, we strive to provide you with the best facilities, best staff and best experience possible. We take pride in our cabin areas, program lodges and dining facilities, and work hard to select and train caring, fun staff to make your stay at Fairview a memorable experience.

Year Round Cabins

The east side of Fairview Lake YMCA Camps has three winterized cabin units and a large sleeping lodge available for groups. They are separated by wooded areas permitting simultaneous use by several small groups, or your group can rent out the entire unit (or the whole side of camp) for your use. Each cabin has ten or twelve built-in bunks, indoor bathroom with flush toilets and hot showers. Due to the design of the buildings, coed groups can be easily accommodated. The cabins have thermostatically controlled gas furnaces, electric lights and outlets plus smoke/carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguishers.

Birch Unit: four duplex buildings that sleep a total of 84 people. Cabins 1-4, Hudson & Edison each sleep ten people.  Cabins 5 and 6 each sleep twelve.

Laurel Ridge Unit:  four duplex buildings that sleep a total of 80 people. Cabins 7-14 each sleep ten people.

Lakeside Unit: five duplex buildings that sleep a total of 104 people. Cabins 15 and 16 and 19 through 24 each sleep ten people.  Cabins 17 and 18 sleep twelve people each.

Wickapeck Lodge: sleeps 50 people.  This cozy lodge, one of the original farmhouses on the property, has three bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs; two bedrooms, a bathroom and a large living room with a fireplace downstairs, plus a dormitory wing with 20 beds and two bathrooms.

Seasonal Units

Available: Mid April - Mid June / Mid August - Mid October

Our seasonal facilities consist of three units separated by wooded areas permitting simultaneous use by several small groups. Our seasonal cabin guests have the option to cook their own meals. Camp lanterns and cook stoves are suggested although there are numerous camp fire areas if you wish to cook over an open fire. Guests may also elect to have their meals provided for them in our dining hall. Our seasonal facilities are available from mid-April to about the third weekend in June and again from mid-August to mid-October.

  • The Delaware Unit:  Nine cabins nestled on the hillside, each with eight built-in bunks. A bath house with hot showers, flush toilets and sinks is centrally located in the unit. The center of the unit also has field space for additional tents to be pitched or games to be played. Delaware also has a pavilion area with picnic tables and is near a large athletic field.
  • The Warrior Unit: Eight cabins, each with eight built-in bunks. A bath house with hot showers, flush toilets and sinks is centrally located in the unit. A basketball court, Kittatinny Program Lodge and the Wakigan Waterfront are a short walk away.
  • The Wakigan Unit:  Ten Adirondack shelters with two bunk beds each accommodate four people. A bath house with hot showers, flush toilets and sinks is centrally located in the unit. The unit features its own waterfront. (Please note that the waterfront must be staffed by Fairview Lake Lifeguards to be used.)

Program Lodges

Our program lodges are shared spaces and assigned by our Directors to best suit the needs of the group. We will always do our best to accommodate your group needs.

  • Kittatinny Lodge: Located on the west side of our lake, the Kittatinny Lodge was completely renovated in 2013. With a large fireplace and main room, plus great spaces for smaller meetings and activities, Kittatinny provides a warm and friendly space for your group. Kittatinny is also home to our Alumni Room. With memorabilia dating back to 1915, this space has comfortable seating and a rich history, and is worth a quick visit when you are on camp!
  • Minisink Lodge: Our newest building, Minisink Lodge, was formally dedicated in 2015 to mark our Centennial Celebration.  Located on the east side of the lake, Minisink is a state of the art program building, holding offices for our staff, an indoor climbing wall, our Cross Country Ski Shop, a stage, candle making shop, and a great room with a grand fireplace. The wrap around porch provides beautiful views of the lake and an elevator makes the building accessible for everyone.

Food Service

Centrally located, our Dining Hall can be divided into three meal areas for smaller groups, or left open for a big dinner or special event. Meals are prepared by skilled chefs and bakers, adding home cooked flavor to every meal. Groups may elect to have buffet or family style meals, and we are also able to prepare bagged lunches for groups on the go! The food service director prepares balanced menus and provides ample portions to satisfy even the heartiest appetite. There are many healthy choices during breakfast, lunch and dinner, including salads and fresh fruit. Vegetarian options are provided at every meal, and special accommodations can be made - please contact camp for details.

Staff

Our experienced staff are chosen for their ability to relate to a variety of age groups, their enthusiasm and their spirit. Staff are available for many activities and programs to make your time at camp memorable and enjoyable. A background check is conducted on each employee to ensure the safety of all of our guests. At Fairview Lake YMCA Camps we are committed to keeping kids safe while they are at camp and in our community.
