Angler's Catch

Coed, Grades 6 - 11   (1 week)

Take your fishing skills and experience to the next level.  Spend a week learning about all aspects of freshwater fishing on local lakes, rivers and ponds.  You will get the opportunity to try fly fishing too.  No previous fishing experience required.

A very popular one-week program aimed at first time adventurers, and one of only three programs for children as young as nine.  Hone your canoeing skills on Fairview Lake, hike a local section of the Appalachian Trail and discover your rock climbing abilities on our 26-foot Wall of Faith.  Plus, learn to set up tents, cook outdoors and experience low-impact, environmentally friendly camping.

Up, Up and Away
Coed, Grades 5 - 11    (1 week)
Beginners: Sunday, June 27 - Saturday, July 3, 2010
Advanced: Saturday, July 3 - Saturday, July 10, 2010
Rock climbing can be for everyone and we'll prove it!  You'll use Fairview Lake as your base camp while spending each day experiencing more challenging climbs.  We will show the beginner climber the world from a whole new perspective!  Advanced: Climbing experience is required to learn the technical aspect of climbing - from gear to technique, with emphasis on self-belaying mechanics as well as an introduction to rappelling.  We will take daily trips to climbing areas within the tri-state region.  A truly exciting and challenging experience awaits you.

Bees, Boats and Bobbers

This camper-favorite combines the teamwork of Ultimate Frisbee with the individual accomplishment of fishing, including a day of deep-sea fishing on a chartered boat.  Our campers asked for two separate one week programs - one early in the summer and one late so we listened.  Don't miss out!

Navigating Nature
Coed, Grades 4 - 8   (1 week)

Experience nature in a manner that few seldom do!  Spend a week using compass skills, map reading and basic survival techniques, in a traditional camp setting.  The week is topped off by a night sleeping in hand-made shelters and campers finding their way back to camp using a compass.

Explore the hidden depths of Surprise Cave with spelunking professionals.  Brave the rapids of the Hawks' Nest area of the Delaware River.  Previous canoeing experience  is a must!

Our Delaware River adventure is one week, between Narrowsburg NY and Belvidere, NJ.  Campers challenge themselves to beat Class III rapids, push long distances and camp on the river's edge - amid some of the most beautiful scenery in the Northeast.  Prior canoeing experience is a must.

 Rocks, Rivers and Reels

This program introduces campers to three outdoor pursuits:  climbing , canoeing and fishing.  Multi-day expeditions teach traditional fishing techniques.  Top off the experience by canoeing down the Delaware with stops at several fishing hotspots.  This two-week session includes an introduction to rock climbing.

Adventurer's Sampling

This program will acquaint you with four distinct outdoor pursuits.  Multi-day expeditions will introduce you to the basic techniques of canoeing, backpacking, rock climbing and rappelling, plus low impact camping.  You'll enjoy fun, friends and the experience of trying new things!

ETC Service Corps
Coed, Grades 8 - 11  (2 weeks)

You can have fun while giving something back to nature!  ETC's "Fairview Lake Service Corps" will work with the Nature Conservancy and the local Appalachian Mountain Club to maintain trails and provide support to hikers as well as working on a service project that benefits the ETC program.  You'll also take local day hikes, go swimming, canoeing and rock climbing.  This is a great opportunity for future CITs to show your commitment to ETC while honing your leadership skills!  Campers can receive volunteer hours for participation in this program.

Outdoor Discovery

Campers spend the week delving into the world around them - from aquatic studies to night time astronomy!  They will learn many aspects of the natural world - wildlife/plant identification, geological history of the Appalachian Mountains and more.  Campers will visit a local site of scientific interest as well as complete a weeklong project.

Spelunking
Coed, Grades 8 - 11   (1 week)

If you don't like heights, water or carrying a backpack, this trip is for you!  We use camp as our base as we take day trips to local and not-so-local caves.  We'll also spend time in camp enjoying the ropes course, swimming, campfires and friends.  It's the best of summer camp and adventure trips.

Take on the challenge of mastering the waters of Fairview Lake and nearby waterways like the Delaware and Lehigh Rivers.  Campers will have the chance to enjoy kayaking, windsurfing and sailing on Fairview Lake.  Campers will also go white water rafting on the Lehigh River and finish the trip with a multi day camping trip along the Delaware River. Good swimming skills required.

Kayak Tour of Lake George

Come and explore Lake George by Kayak!  Paddle from the south through the Narrows and Mother Bunch clusters of islands led by experienced leaders.  Learn to Kayak while making friends and spending time on crystal clear Lake George.  Explore the surrounding mountains while camping on beautiful islands and shoreline campsites. Good swimming skills required.

Sailing on Lake George

Here's a chance to sail and explore beautiful Lake George in the Adirondack Mountains of New York.  Certified skippers will provide instruction on the intricacies of sailing and navigating 24-foot Rainbow sailboats.  You'll dock each evening on one of Lake George's numerous islands, prepare your dinner and pitch your tent for the night.  Don't miss this opportunity to combine your love of sailing with the unsurpassed beauty of the Adirondack Park.  Good swimming skills required.
